Mobile Game & Screen Sharing Terms

Version 0.2-draft

DRAFT — requires qualified legal review

This is not final legal text and should not be relied on as legal advice or a compliance statement.

Draft status

This is a draft pending qualified legal review. It makes no claim of compliance with any specific law outside Australia, and none of it is a legal guarantee.

Single-app sharing by default

On supported Android phones, ZIVE asks Android to let you pick one app to share. Android shows its own picker; ZIVE never selects the app for you and never silently switches to sharing your whole screen.

Sharing your entire screen will only ever be offered as a separate choice with its own warning. Notifications, messages, passwords and other apps can appear when the whole screen is shared.

Live playback and temporary recordings

Cloudflare temporarily records broadcasts to support live playback. ZIVE requests deletion after streams end; deletion can be delayed by provider processing or cleanup failures. Public replays are not enabled. A separate staff-only test flow may retain a requested short private clip; its expiry and deletion limitations are shown there. Viewers may capture what they see.

Audio

Game sound is only included where Android allows the shared app's audio to be captured; some apps block it. Phone calls and protected (DRM) content are never captured. Your microphone is optional and off until you turn it on.

Your controls

A persistent Android notification shows while sharing; tap Stop there or in ZIVE at any time. Locking the phone, revoking permission or closing the shared app ends sharing.

Rights and content

Only stream games and apps you are allowed to broadcast. Some publishers restrict streaming. Do not show other people's personal information.

Minors

ZIVE is not designed for children. Do not stream if you are under the minimum age in the Terms of Service. Parental consent processes are not yet in place.

Reports and takedowns

Anyone can report a live stream. Moderators may end or hide streams that break the Community Guidelines or infringe rights. A formal copyright notice process will be published before launch.

Privacy

ZIVE handles personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles as a starting point. Rights under other jurisdictions apply where the law requires; ZIVE does not yet claim GDPR or CCPA compliance.
